First Global ESG Standards to Be Written This Year, Board Says

The first two international standards for ESG reporting should be written by the end of 2022, the International Sustainability Standards Board said Wednesday—despite not yet having enough members to do anything.

The ISSB issued a timeline for setting its first standards, saying it would have enough members to approve them by the end of June. It issued draft rules in March covering climate and general sustainability disclosures for public discussion.
